Different Eyebrow Techniques

Permanent cosmetic eyebrows can vary from person to person and from artist to artist. This is the most popular type of permanent cosmetic procedure. A professional artist can create fully colored natural brows from several tiny hairs. However, there are different techniques with their exclusive characteristics. Let us look trough the most commonly used techniques.

There are basically 2 types of PMU techniques:

Powdery filled technique (Shading) is very popular among those clients who want to shape, reshape, enhance or color the brows. A soft powdery pigment is used to fill the brows.

Hair stroke technique gives an incomparably natural look, as it shows many little hairs instead of pigment. Created hairline strokes imitate individual natural hair as multiple coloring is used. After the hairline strokes feathering or powdery fill are applied as well.

Depending on a situation and artist’s experience, there are the next derivatives from 2 above mentioned main techniques:

Microblading is also called eyebrow embroidery. It is a relatively new type of semi-permanent cosmetic procedure. People, who suffer from alopecia or have other problems of hair loss, can have natural look by using this technique, as it will result in hair-like strokes. The pigments which are used in this method are formed to match the original color of brows. Primarily, right after the procedure the brows have darker tones. However, during the next two weeks they become significantly lighter and provide flawless, natural look.

Soft fill technique is also called “partial”, as clients basically do not need to fill the whole brow. This is carried out when clients have gaps in certain areas, mostly because of scarring.

Feathering is the combination of hair stroke technique and shading methods. However, strokes here are made closer to each other to provide a shaded dimensional appearance. Moreover, this cosmetic procedure is not suitable for all types of skin, and clients need to consult their technician.
